Almost BABY TIME!!!!

A good bit has happened since my last post, I'll be updating you now....
On December 1st I went into the doctors office with reports of "not feeling normal..." and come to find out I had been contracting about every 6 minutes or so! They gave me a shot to stop the contractions and sent me on my way! He told me to go ahead and take it easy and be on "modified bed rest" so that's what my life has consisted of the past couple weeks!
Our last Dr apt was on Wednesday and we had an ultrasound- Wyatt weighed 6lbs 1oz and Whitley 5lbs 2oz! They were nice and healthy! We are being induced on Wednesday, December 16th @ 6am! We are SOOO excited too!!!
Our last weekend with no babies... what shall we do!?!?!?! HAHA!!!
We will post pics ASAP after the birth! Wish us luck!! We can't believe our pregnancy journey is almost over :(

30 Weeks Pregnant + Swollen = FUN!

So, I'm about 2 days shy of 30 weeks pregnant. I'm definitely feeling the effects of pregnancy all of a sudden! I'm beginning to swell... Fingers, toes, and ankles- It's very cute, let me tell you!
Over the weekend I had to go bra shopping because (get this) while at my brothers 6th Birthday Party my bra just um, broke. I made a mad dash to Kohl's to purchase a few new bras! Might I add, one size bigger!
On Monday I began to notice an uncomfortable sensation in my ribs- it went on all day long and on Tuesday too. Finally on Tuesday I shoved my fingers under my ribs and out came a foot ( I think)!! The sensation went away for about 25 seconds, and then the foot was back! Oh well, if Whitley wants her foot shoved in my ribs, I'll deal with it :)
So, lots going on these days.... hahahaha!!! I sound like I'm complaining, but I'm really not, I am really enjoying being pregnant! Can't wait for them to be here, but not too soon! Only about 7 more weeks left!!!!!!

Our Baby Shower! October 18, 2009

We can't begin to express our thanks to our family & friends that put this Baby Shower together for Frog and I this weekend! We are so very gracious! The day was absolutely beautiful! A little windy and chilly, but perfect! The food was nothing less than amazing too!
We just can't believe how loved we are by so many people! Thank you so much for taking part in such a memorable day for us. It's been a long time coming, and we're so happy to have spent it with such great people!
I hope you enjoy the pictures! We've begun to organize the gifts and can't believe how much stuff we got! We don't need to buy anything!!!
Again, thank you all for sharing this day with us!

Just a lil' update...

I can't believe we only have a few short weeks left until the Twins are here!!! (approximately 9 weeks!) It's going to FLY by with the upcoming Holidays and all!

So, today I am 27 weeks & 4 days! I had my weekly appointment with Dr. Shoemaker yesterday, along with my glucose & iron test. I had to drink this nasty flat orange drink and an hour later they took my blood to see how the sugar reacted in my system... I PASSED!!!! Thank God! However, my iron was pretty low, so now I get to add another lovely pill to my already diverse selection of vitamins each day! HA! ....only 9 more weeks....

Other than all that jazz, everything is going pretty great! Our Baby Shower is this Sunday! I am picking my Dad & Terri up at the airport Friday or Saturday, and I am SO EXCITED! The weather is going to absolutely beautiful- very "fall-like"! YAY!

Ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday the 21st, so I'll make sure I post some pics!

22 (and a half) Week Update :)

Howdy!
Everything is going great with me and the Twins! I finally feel like a human jungle-gym! Wyatt & Whitley are frequent movers and shakers now! Frog can feel them every day too!
He read in his 'expectant father' book that by 18 weeks the babies can hear pretty clearly and playing music for them is thought to be beneficial to their learning abilities once they are out of the womb??? SO, his precious little self bought 2 CD's for me to play for them- Bob Marley's Greatest Hits and Baby Mozart! When I play the Bob Marley CD they really do move around a lot! I hope it's because they like the music, and not because it's too loud or something.... ha!
I have started seeing Dr. Shoemaker every 2 weeks now until about week 28, and then it will be every week until they arrive :) Our next appointment is Monday, Sept 14- No ultrasound at this appoinment, at the next one though! YAY!
Not much else to report on. Our Labor Day weekend was great- very relaxing and we ate a lot of yummy food!!! Hope everyone is doing great as well, will post again soon!

Why I will be a good Mother

There are women that become mothers without effort, without thought, without patience or loss, and though they are good mothers and love their children, I know that I will be better.I will be better not because of genetics, or money, or that I have read more books, but because I have struggled and toiled for these children.I have longed and waited. I have cried and prayed.I have endured and planned over and over again.Like most things in life, the people who truly have appreciation are those who have struggled to attain their dreams.I will notice everything about my children.I will take time to watch my children sleep, explore and discover. I will marvel at this miracle every day for the rest of my life.I will be happy when I wake in the middle of the night to the sound of my child, knowing that I can comfort, hold, and feed him.I will not wake to track another temperature, take another pill, prepare another injection or shed another tear.I count myself lucky in this sense; that God has given me this insight, this special vision with which I will look upon my child that my friends and family will never see.I will be a better mother for all that I have endured. I am a better wife, a better daughter, neighbor, friend and sister because I have known pain. I have been tried by fire and hell many may never face, yet given time, I stood tall.I have prevailed. I have succeeded. I have won.So now, when others hurt around me, I do not run from their pain in order to save myself discomfort. I see it, mourn it, and join them in theirs.I listen. And even though I can't make it better, I can make it less lonely.I have learned the power of another hand holding tight to mine, of other eyes that moisten as they learn to accept the harsh truth, and when life is beyond hard, I have learned a compassion that only comes with walking in those shoes.I have learned to appreciate life.Yes, I will be a wonderful mother.

Ultrasound School Scan

My friend Hannah is in ultrasound school and needed a little practice so she invited me to come and let her scan the twins! It was SOOO fun! I'm so amazed at how big W & W get at each ultrasound! You can't even get them in one photo anymore because they are so big! Whitley already needs a talking to about abusing her brother... She was kicking the crap outta him!!!!! hahahahaha!!! I guess she'll run the roost like her mama! (Laney's words!!)
The picture below is me holding a fake baby that is at 20 weeks gestation! SO CUTE!!!

The Anatomy Scan Appointment!

The twins' had their anatomy scan this morning! Frog couldn't make it because of work, so mom and Niki went with me :) They are PERFECT!!! (And wiggly) ha! All the body parts checked out great! Baby A (the boy) was still upside down from our last ultrasound, and Baby B (the girl) was taking up all the room! She's pretty comfy in there and her poor brother is all scrunched up :(

I have one more routine appointment August 31st and then I will start seeing Dr. Shoemaker every 2 weeks! We're just about half way there now! YAY!!!
I think we've decided on names too!!!
Baby A (girl) is Whitley Faye
Baby b (boy) is Joseph Wyatt (call him Wyatt)

Alright, here are some pics from today! Enjoy!!
